Whether the sun is shining or not, we declare cider season officially open! We love Irish craft cider, it’s gluten-free (unlike beer), it’s locally made (unlike wine) and, best of all, it tastes great.
Longueville House Cider: Long-known for its apple brandy, this made in Mallow tree-to-bottle cider is made from a blend of Dabinett and Michelin cider apples grown on the 20-acre Blackwater Valley farm, producing a smooth medium-dry finish.
Highbank Medieval Cider: Made by Rod and Julie Calder-Potts, on their working orchard and farm in Kilkenny is deliciously honeyed, 100% organic and sulphate-free and made from their own apples.
Longways Cider: This recently launched cider is made in Tipperary from apples grown exclusively on their own orchard in the Suir Valley (pollinated by the sixteen hives of Irish honeybees who also live there). It’s eminently quaffable and easy to love.
